Family Pictures

Tessa- FIVE months old!

Our little princess is already five months old! She is just such a precious little angel. We love her to pieces! We had some family pictures taken and I just LOVE these ones of Tess. I might be a little bit biased but I think she's just the cutest little thing ever!

At five months Tessa is sleeping about 9 hour stretches at night. She goes to bed at about 8:00 and sleeps until about 5:00 or so then wakes up to eat and goes right back to bed for about 3 hours. Her routine is that she stays up for about 2 hours and then takes a nap for about 2 hours all day until bed time. She started rice cereal about a month ago and wasn't too sure about it but she now gobbles it up and loves it! She laughs and giggles all the time and is a very very happy baby. She still nurses about every 3 to 4 hours and still isn't too sure about the bottle thing. She'll take mommy's milk from a bottle but despises formula- can't say that I blame her- have you ever smelled that stuff? Her brothers still want to hold her all the time and can't get enough of her. She is absolutely one of the most loved little babies in this world. She has five people who constantly dote on her. I am hoping that we don't make her spoiled rotten! She is so good natured- I'm hopeful that we can keep her that way! She rarely, if ever, cries. If she cries it's usually because something is wrong... i.e. HER BROTHERS are bugging her!!! She is getting close to sitting on her own but is still tipsy. She can definitely sit well with a little support. She is not even close to rolling over though! She's totally happy to just lay on her back and suck on her toes. If we even try to give her tummy time she gets ticked off and yells until we turn her on her backside! She loves baths and water in general! This past month she went to Bear Lake and boating and she was a perfect angel during both long, hot days. She will also sit contentedly during a movie at the theater. I just love that we can take this kid anywhere and she'll be happy. We love her so so so much! It's unbelievable how strong the power of loving a little person can feel. I don't know what we ever did without her!!!

Randomness...

We have had a pretty busy summer. It seems like we have something going on every day! The boys still love their baby sister. What a lucky girl!

One night the boys begged to make pancakes all by themselves. Here is the finished product. They did it with NO help from Ed or I. Yummmmm......

Bear Lake Here We Come!

We had a 3 day weekend over the 4th of July so we took full advantage of it and went to Bear Lake with some good friends. We had a blast even though it was a bit chilly and windy. Seriously? What is up with this summer???

Independence Day!

This year we celebrated our magnificent country's independence by going to the parade and the fire works. This was quite an unusual year because we FROZE! We had to wear long pants and sweatshirts to the parade. We had fun anyway though!

I love the Fourth of July and this year was no exception. It is always one of my favorite holidays... sunshine, family, friends and lots of fun. What more could I ask for?

Tessa- Four Months Old!

I know I keep saying this every month but I seriously cannot believe how fast time flies. It seems that I was just pregnant and now Tess is already four months old! At her four month check up she weighed 13 lb 6 oz (39 %), height 23.5 inches (18% *but the doc thinks it may have been measured wrong because she doesn't seem that short), and head circumference 16 inches (36%). All in all she is pretty average but she sure seems like a little chunk to us. She has the most kissable little cheeks in the world and the chubbiest little legs and thighs. At four months she has finally found her toes. She lays on her back and always holds onto her feet although they haven't found their way up to her mouth yet :) I may have spoke prematurely last month when I said she was sleeping through the night so much. Right after that post she started waking up EVERY night to eat but is now back to sleeping through the night. She still naps several times a day but she can now stay awake for 2 hours at a time. She used to take bottles and formula but now she refuses! Darn it! And she only takes her pacifier at night time. The rest of the time she is content to suck on her fingers and hands and even her wrists. Crazy girl! She is a very happy content baby! Her brothers wake her up from every nap she takes though- seriously- EVERY nap!

This is what I mean about sucking on her fingers... We are still undecided on her eye color. They are a very strange color- not quite blue, gray or green. Who knows?

Poor baby girl- we were at baseball games all day last week and she got a little sunburned. I tried SO hard to keep her in the shade but her little cheeks ended up pink anyway- oops!

This is how she always falls asleep. She loves to sprawl out. She is definitely WAY past the swaddling stage!

Sorry- that was picture overload but I just can't help myself :) We are so in love with this little angel. She has all of us wrapped around her little finger- what a precious baby. And yes- her brothers STILL fight to hold her every single day. She is one loved little girl and I have no idea how we lived for so long without her!

T-Ball

Talen did t-ball this summer and when he wasn't sitting down in the outfield I think he had a very enjoyable time :) It really was cute to watch though. It's been a while since I've had a little one in t-ball.
