Golf Lessons
The boys took golf lessons earlier this summer and they learned a lot. I think that I need to some lessons too. I was amazed at how much better they got with just a few lessons. We've been enjoying golfing as a family this summer. My dad bought all three of my boys clubs and Ed got me some for Mother's Day and I got him some new ones for Father's Day so we're all set. We have a little 5 hole short course close to our house that is just perfect for our kids. It takes us about an hour and we can all do it plus it's really inexpensive so it's perfect!

After the lessons they had a tournament and did well. Tray actually got frustrated and paranoid when everyone was watching him and didn't do as well as he'd hoped. Tegen did great- he won out of his group. We decided against baseball this year so we decided to go with tennis and golf instead this summer. We've definitely enjoyed it!

Basketball...Basketball...Basketball....
I mentioned in an earlier post about how busy we've been... well, we weren't just busy with birthdays. We've been swamped with basketball! Each boy had a game a week and a practice a week; which made for 4 days a week of basketball. I must say that it kept me super busy with all of the other things that we have going on in our lives but I truly enjoyed watching the boys grown and learn this season.
Tegen has always been a bit timid and not very aggressive and when it comes to sports it's been no exception. Well, this season he finally decided to get a little bit more active and it was exciting to watch him guard those boys that are at least a head taller than him and shoot for those baskets.

So cute!!!
As you can see- Tegen doesn't really have the height advantage in basketball. At first I kept thinking that it's not fair that he has to guard boys that are so huge compared to him. After a while we decided that he will probably never be the super tall kid so he has to learn to do his best with what he's got. And he definitely did! He played his little heart out and I'm so proud of him!
Look at that little face. Everyone always comments on Tray's smile. No matter what he always has a huge grin on his face. During every game he just smiled away.

Going in for the shot. OOPS! Too bad I missed the actual ball going in the hoop. I really need some good photography skills.
Traysen was an absolute blast to watch play this season. It was literally like watching a light bulb come on inside his head. One game he was just okay and the next game he just exploded out there on the court. He tried to get every rebound, make every shot and guard his guy no matter what. It was so awesome to watch!

I know that I've said this before- this is just the beginning of my life... sports and more sports! I'm sure that I'll be doing a lot of this over the next few years, but I honestly wouldn't have it any other way. I guess I'm like the nerdy soccer mom out there cheering for my kids, but watching them light up each time they play makes all that driving around to different practices and games totally worth it. Now we get a break for a month and begin arena football in April. Hey- at least it's indoors so I won't be out there freezing :)
