~ School Days ~

I am still in shock that summer is over! It went by so fast this year. We did too much playing and having fun! My boys are getting so big! I can't believe that Tray will be in 2nd grade this year. We met his teacher- and love her already!

Tegen is in 4th grade this year. We also really love his teacher. I requested their teachers and was so happy when they honored BOTH my requests. I am grateful to the school and the principal. I think my boys will both have an awesome school year. They are both excited to learn new things. I think they are most excited about recess and lunch- but what can I say- they're All BOY!

I definitely didn't get a good picture of them getting on the bus. The bus came several minutes early. Last year it was about 20 minutes late so we thought by going out 10 minutes early we would have plenty of time but we guessed wrong! At least they made it on the bus- there were several kids in the neighborhood who missed it completely. OOPS! This picture is of them making the mad dash to the bus!

August!

Well- I don't have many pictures from August. We did go to Bear Lake with our friends. We usually go a few times during the summer since it's our favorite vacation spot. This first picture is Ed getting towed out of the sand. Yes- he will definitely want to kill me for posting this! I had to go to the bathroom so he drove me up to it and his truck got stuck ( I think he was trying to show off by spinning the tires-and it backfired on him). Well, Jeff who drives a Dodge had to come pull him out. Now- he will never live it down- a Dodge had to pull out a Ford. Kinda funny though!
Always the little poser for the camera!
Sort of a group shot. There were so many of us there that day. I wish I would have thought to take a picture of the whole group! It was definitely a fun day though!

We also did some fun stuff where I (of course) forgot to take my camera. We went to Bear Lake for my family reunion (told you we love that place!). We went boating with some friends. And we went camping with Ed's parents. I sure wish that I had thought of my camera for all these trips, but the memories will have to do! Also our entire month of August has been filled with football, football, football!!! Both our older boys are on football teams and it pretty much takes up every evening. There will definitely be some pictures to come later!

It's About Time....

Okay- I kind of slacked on blogging this summer... okay I REALLY slacked but I was out having fun! Here's a recap of the month of July. Swimming lessons... Ah the yearly swimming lessons. The boys all did great and had a fun time. Check out that graceful jump off the diving board- he he!
Here is Tray's jump off the diving board...

Tegen is not the one on the diving board he's the boy on the side diving in... Great job!

My brother Kris's kids came down from Washington this summer so we tried to do a few fun things together. My dad also came up to visit us from Utah so we all went golfing. Can I just tell you how funny we looked? Three adults and 5 small kids. Yea- the little short course took us a couple of hours, but we had so much fun!

All the boys getting ready to golf... Tegen, Tray, Braxton, Talen and Mason!

On another day we went up to my parents house to let the boys hang out and run through the sprinklers. I loved this picture of Talen and Mason- they look so cute together!

READY, SET.... GO!!!

My brother Kris and his adorable boys- We sure miss them!!

Okay- so this is super late- I know- but here is the 4th of July! We went to the annual parade with our friends the Dabell's this year. The kids got tons of candy and had a blast as usual. Then we went to the river to watch the firework display. We went with my parents. They are usually out of town camping but they were actually in town this year. We had fun hanging out, eating good food and playing games. Good Times!

Papa and the boys waiting!
I tell ya- the river on the 4th of July is definitely the place to people watch if you're into that. I think I could just watch all day all the different kinds of people that come out during the holiday!

It was a beautiful display of fireworks as usual!!!

Talen was plum tuckered out by the end of the day. The 4th is such a big day for little ones... what am I talking about? It was a big day for me too! Fortunately, I was able to stay awake.

We were blessed to have a lot of fun times with family and friends this summer! Summer is definitely my favorite time of year!

Under Construction....

What is under construction??? We have decided to add a small addition to our home! The expected completion date is March 3, 2010 and will probably be approximately 6 to 7 pounds. This "construction" has/does/will consist of mood swings, frequent bathroom trips, constant hunger and nauseousness, extreme fatigue, gaining weight and on the up side feeling little kicks, hearing the heart beat, and what else??? Oh yea- the birth of a new precious baby!

We are so excited to have a new little baby in our home. I'm excited, elated, nervous and scared all rolled into one big ball of emotions. The boys are ecstatic to be big brothers again but I must say that I am scared to start all over. After all, my baby will be FIVE when our new little one arrives. I will have a boy who is ready to drive and one who is going to start kindergarten... yikes! I feel like we are good parents (though there's always room for improvement) and we love our children more than anything so what could be better than loving a new baby straight from heaven?

Ahhh.... Now I'm sure my phone will ring- as there are many friends and family who will be surprised by our news!

Bear Lake

We had another fun time at Bear Lake last weekend. We had lots of fun- eating, playing, relaxing, building HUGE fires, eating lots of marshmallows and enjoying the sunny beach! Bear Lake is our favorite place to vacation and we usually go a couple of times a year. We went with our good friends the Dabell's and the Dennett's. It's always fun to spend time with friends!

Golf Lessons

The boys took golf lessons earlier this summer and they learned a lot. I think that I need to some lessons too. I was amazed at how much better they got with just a few lessons. We've been enjoying golfing as a family this summer. My dad bought all three of my boys clubs and Ed got me some for Mother's Day and I got him some new ones for Father's Day so we're all set. We have a little 5 hole short course close to our house that is just perfect for our kids. It takes us about an hour and we can all do it plus it's really inexpensive so it's perfect!

After the lessons they had a tournament and did well. Tray actually got frustrated and paranoid when everyone was watching him and didn't do as well as he'd hoped. Tegen did great- he won out of his group. We decided against baseball this year so we decided to go with tennis and golf instead this summer. We've definitely enjoyed it!

Lagoon!

Our company has an annual company party at LAGOON! We have so much fun every year. The kids are finally getting big enough to ride the rides so this year was especially fun!
All my handsome boys!
Ha ha ha ha!!! I took this picture because Ed got SO scared on one of the kiddie rides that he took Talen on that he wet his pants. Just kidding!!! That would be funny though- it just looks like he wet his pants. He actually took Talen on a ride that happened to splash water right on that particular spot on his pants. You better believe that I teased him about "wetting his pants!"

Look at that face! He wasn't too sure about MOST of the rides. He didn't even like very many of the kiddie rides but the slow moving ones were okay. He isn't quite the dare devil like his big brothers are. He gets it from his dad. Ed hates all rides. He only rides the sky ride (Talen's favorite ride) which is just like a going on a ski lift. BORING!!! Actually Ed gets really motion sick so he has to steer clear of anything that spins or moves fast- which pretty much rules out every big ride!

They are too funny! Look at those expressions. They had so much fun!

Talen was such a trooper- he stood by and watch while we went on rides all day without complaining even once. The only thing he asked for all day was some cotton candy. Sure- why not- what's Lagoon without the accompanying sugar high you get from all the junk food?

Me and Tegen went on EVERY fast roller coaster there was. I'm so happy to have a great little riding buddy. He didn't even get too scared.

We had so much fun and can't wait for next year! Tray is hoping to grow about 6 inches so that he can ride all the big roller coasters. I'm not sure if I should break the news now or later that a growth spurt like that is highly unlikely!
